5.0 for Windows 98,2000, XP (Experimental)
I've had some reports of problems with MineralLabel with folks using Windows
2000, Windows ME, and Windows XP. Apparently the program will not install
properly in those versions of Windows in some cases. I now have an experimental
installation system available for these versions of Windows. Click

download the version on this page. You must click the link above and download
the new version.
Since I am no longer programming, I cannot address support issues for this
experimental version.. My best
recommendation is to give it a try. If it won't work on your system, it won't
work. It's free, after all. MineralLabel was designed in Windows 3.1. It
continues to work well in Windows 95 and Windows 98. It may or may not work on
your installation of later versions of Windows.

What You Need
MineralLabel requires Windows 3.x or Windows 95/98, plus a minimum of 4MB of RAM and 4MB
of hard disk space. You also need at least 640x480 resolution, a mouse, and a printer.
Essentially, if you're running Windows, you can run MineralLabel. NOTE:
MineralLabel may not work in Windows 2000, ME, or XP. It may also not work with
USB printers.
What it Costs
MineralLabel 5.0 is now Free! I'm no longer programming, so I won't be
updating this program in the future. It still works just fine, of course, and
I've decided to give it to the rockhounds of the world at no charge.
What about Users who Previously Paid for the Program?
If you purchased a copy of MineralLabel 5.0 after August 5, 2000, you are
eligible for a refund of your purchase price, including shipping. If you
purchased it before August 5, 2000, no refund will be offered, but you will be
entitled to free support for the program forever. If you're eligible for
a refund, just Email Me and I'll
get your refund check off to you or credit your account, as you choose.
Limitations
MineralLabel is a free program, but it is not in the public domain. You may
make copies of the program and give them away. You may not sell
the program for any price whatsoever. You may not make the program
available on any website. You may, however, link to the OsoSoft Mineral
Connection to let people download the files from this website. These are the
rules!
